Agreed except for your concern as to the permanency of the record regarding
the internet/web publication of the introduction.
When you really think about it the web publication is as permanent as the
iris catalog, magazine or bulletin thrown in the trash after reading or as
permanent as the one of those publications saved for future reference. For
instance, a 1999 iris catalog from marketer/supplier is not available
indefinitely (whether paper-based or web-based).
The web publication/info can be saved on your local computer hard drive
should you wish just as you may choose to save your paper catalog. As such
it is also subject to storage dangers as its paper companion; flood, fire,
acts of war or God. And as you point out the AIS usefully and helpfully
issues a compilation of the R and I's each year as well as the 10 year
issues. All help to provide and maintain accurate records for future
reference.
