OT: I'M HERE!

From: "heather & bernard pryor" <irishaven@pip.com.au>

Hi folks,

Thanks for the enquiries.  I am alive and well down here in the Land of Oz.

However, Bernard and I have been up to our eyeballs in orders so have been "head down, tail up" in the garden most days.

The Y2K thing was not a problem here at all, but as it is also summer holidays we have tried to slip away from the orders for a few days and have a bit of fun.

Really enjoyed a leisurely Sydney Harbour Cruise one day which had us end up in Darling Harbour where we could see those fabulous chinese lantern "harbour creatures" up close.  They were made of silk-like fabric smilar to parachute material.  My favourite was the sea-horse fellow in shades of yellow, red and purple - what a totally amazing creature!

Yesterday was our 18th wedding anniversary so we went out for the day.  The night before we had a dinner party for our iris friends Ted  & Janet Hutchinson plus Ann & Carr Hordern.  T & J celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary the day before us and A & C celebrate their 18th in a few weeks.  All rather festive, fun and totally pleasant.  Three guesses what was the topic of conversation over dinner? Iris, perhaps? Yep!

Sorry to have been lurking on iris-talk but I have been following the comments re the AIS registration thread with some interest.  As you may all know, IRIS HAVEN has released some varieties directly into the USA over the last few years so I felt that it was prudent to stay out of the discussion and see where it went.

Otherwise, it's business as usual here.  I'm also preparing for the ISA AGM, which is to be held (tentatively booked for) 29th February, 2000.  I figured as this only happens once every 400 years it would be an appropriate date for us all together on our regular national telephone hook-up.  Take that however you like, but it is meant in fun!  Being Federal President fills my days with such exciting chores! (hee hee)

Well, back to the digging/weeding/paperwork etc. etc.

Cheers for now,
Heather Pryor
