Re:AIS SHOW:Seedling Judging

From: "Carryl Meyer" <carrylm@powerone.com>

I have had the honor of Judging shows in Portland--with members of the Greater Portland Iris Society--(First time as an Apprentice with Keith Keppel as the clerk!)--and there are a goodly number of judges there, so not all of them judge the show--BUT--the papers for writing up the seedlings are laid out in the area of the seedlings--and every judge there (usually) takes a form and completes it--
Since many of the Judges there are also Hybridizers--they know the importance of completing the forms for the awards for worthy seedlings--
Before the judge leaves the judging area, the form is completed and turned in to the Show Chair--who then sends them all in with the show report--
Nice and easy--and this is an easy procedure to follow--
If you are a judge--and the show chair does not provide you with the forms--ask for it--voting for worthy seedlings is one of the responsibilities of being a good judge!!!
Carryl in western Montana zone 3/4(currently in northern California-zone 6) where we are finally having some much needed rain!!!
