Here is South OZ many people grow there LAs and PCs in pots as the soil is
often very alkaline. They mostly buy acid potting mix, add a vast amount of
cow manure and try to water with rain water as the town water is also
alkaline. The pots are mostly sat in paddling pools. The results are
excellent. You fairly big pots 12" for the LA. The top LA grower in SA
(Peter Jackson ) grows all his in pots. We grow about
half our LA in pots (for ease of sale, our pH is OK) and have no problems.
