I bought LACY SNOWFLAKE in one of those baggies years ago - one of my
most reliables, tho the flowers are so big, they hit the dirt in a heavy
rain.  I think the folks who sell to the 'Marts must at least try to
pick the toughest ones to subject to that kind of abuse.

But I was referring to rhizomes purchased from reliable, world reknowned
iris sources when I said 'store boughts'.  Apologies for the confusion -
I meant store-bought as opposed to home-made (rural expression).

I am SO contrary - used to rarely buy rhizomes from the 'marts, but
after all the fuss onlist about 'marts as a source of mislabelled
irises, I've started buying one of everything they have each fall.  And
now I have a healthy mislabelled EDITH WOLFORD lookalike (which I
promise not to pass along) that actually grows here, as opposed to the
real thing.  tch tch
