Walter, here in Farmville we got 8-10 inches. I understand that parts of
Richmond and eastward got as much as 20 inches, as did the Raliegh-Durham
area in North Carolina.
Actually it is welcome for the garden, because we are now expecting
temperatures near zero tomorrow night. That blanket of snow will be nice
insulation.
I'm going to be interested to see how this affects my "hardy" palms:
Raphidophyllum hystrix, which has been outside for two years, and
Trachycarpus fortunei 'Greensboro', planted last year. Also am trying out
the supposedly hardy banana, Musa basjoo (heavily wrapped and mulched, of
course).
