Yesterday, down here in northern Calif-- we went
to a Home Depot--and there--just outside the door--were all the new spring
bulbs--and many Iris--mostly ones which are at least 15-20 years old--and the
same ones which you will see at Home Depots all around the U.S.
Listed as --Perennial--guaranteed to bloom this
year-- and there were some others--"Smaller Iris--five in a pack--mixed
colors"---and they both were going fast!!!
The rhizomes looked sorta dried out--maybe we
should take a lesson from this and have our rhizzome sales in the spring--rather
than in the summer!!!
Carryl from western Montana-usually zone
3/4--where my town has ;snow-mounds' in some parking lots--which begin looking
pretty clean and white--and end up a pile of black mess!!
The snow dumps discussion is
great!!
