An Invitation To Join The Reblooming Iris Society
Organized in 1967, the RIS is a section of the American Iris
Society devoted to promoting interest and development of all iris
types having more than one bloom season per year. In milder parts of
the U.S. We have reached the "ever bloom" classification, in others,
a second and possibly a third bloom. In some far northern areas such
as Maine we have rebloom reports. Some varieties of Siberian and
Japanese irises have been reported to bloom up to 10 weeks. There
are reports of TB, BB, IB, MTB, SDB, and MDB rebloom. In California
there is almost year round bloom.
As a member you receive "The Reblooming Iris Recorder". It
contains articles about what has rebloomed, regional news, research,
notes of personal experience and some advertising. You normally will
receive two (2) Recorders per year.
The RIS has over 600 members, approximately 10% of the American
Iris Society members.
A new checklist is available at $13.00 U.S. It contains
information on all irises reported to rebloom and location with usda
zones where reported.(Over 2200 varieties). Overseas postage is
$4.00 extra.
Members of RIS may send a legal sized stamped, self addressed
envelope for a list of commercial sources for reblooming irises.
