Root beer is a carbonated soft drink made with an extract of the bark (or
roots, maybe?) of the sassafras tree. It has a nice, mildly spicy aromatic
flavor. Peel and sniff sassafras bark and you will know the taste.
Usually, vanilla or other flavors are blended into the finished commercial
product. Just like "Coca-Cola", we have many brands of root beer. A & W
Root Beer is probbaly the most famous, though not necssarily the best.
