Walter did AIS members and to-be members in quoting that excellent article -
it is an ageless one and should be printed again - how about it, Terry - is
it too late?
And I was amazed this was written before I was "in" irises - at that time I
was busy with an academic life with my husband (in science) and the start of
becoming grandparents! It seems so long ago - and I did not know about AIS.
My husband was the gardener with roses and a few vegetables - I just enjoyed
the products, because I thought it was too hot to be in the sun! How irises
have changed my life! However, at times I actually gardened by full moon to
avoid the heat! Also it was quiet! And perfect with an indulgent husband
who would cook dinner,. Irises are full of happy memories at all times,
