When we lived in Houston, we had a cold spell where the temp. got down to 8
degrees with ice then snow, but the Dietes came through just fine. They
were planted out around the pond in the middle of the yard. So did other
tender plants. amaryllis among them. I have crinum lilies planted in the
ground,here,
and they have come through two winters,so far. If the tender plants are
planted close to the house, they will survive pretty cold temps, as the
ground stays warmer.
