Linda, I have not observed any germination in freezing weather. I
used to plant my LA seeds in the fall and germination occurred during
the following spring.
After being on Lairis awhile and listening to La pros, I find that
most of them plant before the seeds dry out. They also peel off the
cork seed covering. The seeds planted this way started germinating
with cooler weather in September and October. I have to bring the
pots inside during very cold snaps. A few of the taller ones show
some cold stress, but with warmer weather, they will recover.
