In the 1998 AIS Handbook for Judges and Show Officials the following
heights are listed as:
Tall Bearded; iris over 27" in height
Border Bearded; 16" to 271/2"
Miniature Tall Bearded; 16" to 25"
Intermediate Bearded; 16" to 271/2"
Standard Dwarf Bearded; 8" to 16"
Sounds confusing? There are many other facets that place certain iris
in certain classes.
All Irisarians who wish to show, hybridize, or just have iris be your
dominate flower of choice should have a copy of this manual. It can be
purchased from the AIS. They accept Visa ansd Master Card or check.
