Hi,
I hate to see anyone perpetuating a stereotype in regards to tet MTB's.
They do have a rounder form and give the appearance of being larger,
however, if they fit the somewhat stringent measurement requirements of
the MTB class in all over bloom size and stalk size, etc, There is no
reason why they should be excluded from the MTB class.
Are you growing any tet MTB's? We grow over 250 diploid MTB's as well
as several thousand tet's ( only a few of which are MTB size). I want to
assure you that there are several diploid MTB's that exceed the
measurement requirements of the MTB class.
The tet's are adding more color, cleaner colors, then the diploids have
produced since designated as a class. How many pink, lavender, or
amoena diploid MTB's do you know of? The tet's we grow have fine
flexible stalks, too.
I urge anyone who is truly interested in comparing the diploids to tet's
to grow several tet's. You may be pleasantly surprised.
Vicki
