Hi,
I belong to a local iris society called the Bluegrass Iris Society
(BGIS) which meets 6 times a year & sends out 6 newsletters per year. We have
an Iris Show at a Mall & a rhizome sale (with rhizomes dug, cleaned & donated
by members) in July to raise money for the club. Our dues are only $2 for an
individual & $2:50 for a family, mostly for postage. Last year was a great
year, and we hope this year will be the same if not better. But we could use
more members. We are working at getting youth involved by having 2 Classroom
Iris Projects (CIP's) at schools in the Bluegrass. We are also willing to pay
speakers this year. Our January Speaker, Bob Strohman from Louisville,
Kentucky was outstanding. But we need more members desperately.
