Linda, Maybe you didn't walk through it slow enough! I don't speak that
dialect but understand it fairly well. I could probably order lunch--after
the locals got done laughing at MY speech patterns!
Betty from Kentucky . . . . moved from Arkansas to St. Louis. Now that was a
trip. Don't do that unless you want people staring at ya, followed with
exclamations of, "Oh, I just LOVE to hear you talk!" Being young and thinking
all southerners spoke the same, I had a rude awakening when we vacationed at
KY Lake! Restaurant talk again . . . the highlight of the vacation for me
was listening to people talk.
Unfortunately, I can't really take part in this conversation cause I never
learned how to write southern, just talk it!
