What conditions does this one grow under? I have it and like it very well. But I've found it is a rare iris that seems to prefer the heat and dry summer rather than a more congenial spot. I discovered that by switching places with another. Neither liked the switch. Most of my irises prefer the richer soil with some break from the sun. I think ROYAL TARA has been the single exception to the rule. It grows and blooms well for me, but not aggressively. Nice plant.
so my iris like to get as much sun as possible. I did notice, though, when I
moved ROYAL TARA to a slightly less sunny spot in the raised bed (in an
attempt to keep her from shading nearby slower-growing iris) that she
took longer to recover than I would have expected, though she's now back to her
weed-like growth.
