Zonal and Luminata

I hadn't thought of zonals as being much like luminatas until I saw
the pedigree for Spoon's DAUGHTER OF STARS (CLARENCE X MIND READER)
Is there a correlation in the heredity of the zonal pattern and the
luminata pattern? (About now I'm actually grateful that CLARENCE has
an unknown pedigree, at least this way I don't feel too guilty about
not trying to study the pedigree and figure it out a bit more for
myself before asking.)
