This was my plan too! ;-) I should get bloom this year. I hope. Anyway, I
have a good collection of Orange iris. Maybe Amplified will work. I have
TORCHED WITCH, which is a child of my all time favorite ORANGE STAR. I've yet to
see it bloom but it is growing better than OS.
Reblooming Oranges seem to be a problem for me. VIVA MEXICO doesn't want to
bloom work for me. It's one of those that just barely maintains its presence
in the garden. I get 1 stalk per year that is about 12 inches high and has
two blooms. In this condition it will neither set pods or fertilize pods! And,
ORANGE HARVEST rots. I hate to spend money on it again.
AMANDA ERIN did grow well for me in Alvaton and it's just an oversight on my
part that I don't have it now. Will remedy that this year. Thanks.
Most orange irises bloom late and that contributes to my problem. Dry heat in
late May usually contributes to breeding problems with the orange. May have
to trick mother nature with bloom covers or something to conserve moisture
this year. Windy hill and no shade!
More?
