Re: HYB: blue ground plic

PANDORA'S PURPLE is one of the tough ol gals I've grown for a long
time. Often stunted (too early), but hangs in there.

PANDORA'S PERFECTA is new here. Of all the new additions last year, it
is one of the poorest looking so far. May not make it.

UNDERSTUDY is another one in this color type that has really impressed
me here so far. It's older, but has nice branching, big blooms and is
tough and healthy. Looking forward to seeing some babies from it
crossed with ART DECO that might bloom this spring.

PANDORA'S PURPLE is darker and more purple than UNDERSTUDY, at least as
I remember them both. I posted a photo of this one a while ago,
borrowed from a commercial website, I think.

UNDERSTUDY (C. Tompkins, R. 1986). Sdlg. 83-78. TB, 38" (97 cm), ML.
"Creamy orchid blue ground, washed deep heliotrope blue, 1/2" violet
edge; blue beard. Sdlgs. X ((Dark Town Strutter x Tinsel Town) x
(Tinsel Town x Dark Town Strutter)). Fleur de Lis Gardens 1986."

None of these are what I think of when I say blue ground plicata.
