Thank you everyone for all of your help with identifying and locating the root beer iris. The archives were most helpful as were all of your suggestions and comments. I read somewhere that these old irises are more resistant to the iris borers which have plagued my modern types. The borers have introduced a pathgen into my flower beds that has affected not only the irises but has turned the hen-and-chicks into mush, too. Are there any non-chemical solutions to this problem?
