Re: HYB: HIST: help - "red" umbratas?

Griff, that is a wonderful example!

I assume that's from one of your WABASH lines. It pretty clearly shows
the blue and yellow do NOT match perfectly in this seedling.

Which is not to say that there might not also be a yellow 'umbrata' that
<would> match if it were crossed with WABASH.

What's the rest of the pedigree?

I ran across some more last night: BRISTO MAGIC and REPARTEE.
Unfortunately, BRISTO MAGIC has WHOLE CLOTH in its background. REPARTEE
looks more interesting:

REPARTEE (C & K Smith, R. '66). 64-36. TB, 30", E-M-L, Y4R. S
ivory-yellow (Ridgway 21F); F carmine and oxblood red with ivory border.
Grosvenor X Paradox. Moldovan '68.

GROSVENOR (C & K Smith, R. '60). 59-12. TB, 34", E-ML,, V3. "S
campanula violet; F Victoria violet, white blaze around yellow beard.
(South Pacific x Elizabeth Noble) X Bright Hour. Smith '64."

PARADOX (C & K Smith, R. `60). 59-9. TB, 42", E-M-L, Y3. S mimosa
yellow; F saffron yellow; cadmium-orange beard. Happy Birthday X
Maytime x (Helen Collingwood x (Ex travaganza x Royal Diadem))). Smith
`64.
