Hi,
When I saw the first post on this particular type of try to get new members
I immediately thought. 'I would do it a little differently. I would make
the offer and have the item picked up at the next regular meeting after they
joined.' What do all of you think of that twist?

Not only with irises, but also with roses. Two years ago the rose club
received a donation of 100 rose bushes which we gave to each person
joining at our booth at the Wichita Lawn and Garden show.
Our membership jumped over 200%. Sadly, it dropped at the end of the
first year. Only our regular members renewed.
As the current president, I was asked to approve a motion to repeat our
unsuccessful try. I had to say no, as this year the cost of the plants
would be on us. Len Suchy
