Anja -- I wish my German were nearly as good as your English. On the grammatical point, I agree essentially with Jeff and Dave. Perhaps we can illustrate a bit :
"I cross iris A with iris B" is good grammar, but the meaning is ambiguous, since it doesn't tell which is the pollen parent and which the pod parent.
"I cross iris A to iris B" tells us what you are doing, i.e., putting pollen from A on B, but is not idiomatic English.
"I cross iris A by iris B" is good, idiomatic grammar and tells us exactly what you are doing, i.e., putting pollen from B on A.
The use of "by" here is also consistent with the way in which parentage is listed in the Checklists, for example: 'Suky' = 'Violet Miracle' X 'Victoria Falls'. The "X" signifies "crossed by".
Your BC is pretty and unusual -- as if someone had added broken color to 'Sweeter Than Wine'.

Hi everyone,Sorry, my question may sound ridiculous, but I have problems with the English grammar. Do I say "I cross iris A with iris B" or "I cross iris A to iris B"or "I cross iris A by iris B"? I would like to improve my bad English.
