I just wanted to be sure everyone on iris-photos and hort.net was aware of some interesting posts on 'forced' germination via seed cutting on iris-species, an idea spurred by an article in the latest SIGNA bulletin. If you are not a member of SIGNA; the bulletin and the seed exchange make it very worthwhile! Here is the info on the 2009 seed exchange in case anyone missed it.

The Species Iris Group of North America (SIGNA) Seed Exchange for 2009 is now available on line.
There are over 460 items available. Most of these are Iris species and selections, many wild collected.
Other iris Family species are included.

Please note that seeds are only available for members of SIGNA, but non-members can join at the
time the order is placed. Please read the instruction for ordering. Full list and info at http://www.signa. org/

If you have any questions, please write to SIGNASeedEx@ gmail.com

Thanks, Jim Waddick & Jim Murrain, Co-chairmen

With apologies to all those who already knew all this,
Bill
