I am very sorry to hear about Roy Epperson's death, He cared so much about the
success of the American Iris Society and devoted so much time and energy to
it. He was a friend and we were so happy to have him grow some of our
introductions,

And secondly I note how sad I was to learn today that American Iris Society
President Roy Epperson died very suddenly this past weekend. While I didn't
know Roy personally having never met him, I enjoyed reading his article in the
October Bulletin where he described his initiation into the AIS in 1959. I am
quite sure by the tone of his writing and the thoughtful expression in his
picture that he must have been a kind gentlemen with a big heart along with a
big love for iris.

As a fairly recent member of the AIS, let me express my deepest sympathy to
those of you who have lost a friend and mentor.

growing conditions sound similar to ours in northern CO.
