Strange, but encouraging. <<Very strange to see seedlings with all that snow.>> Betty W. -----Original Message----- From: Linda Mann <lmann@lock-net.com> To: iris <iris@hort.net> Sent: Sat, Jan 15, 2011 6:30 am Subject: [iris] HYB: baby seedlings Wee baby seedlings continue to come up, but only from some crosses. ooks like the others either were bad or need warmer temperatures. It's een near refrigerator temps round the clock most of the time since I oved them out there in Dec, so they've had <plenty> of chilling for irst year germination, even if 2+ months in the fridge wasn't enough. Fairly good germination on a couple of different crosses involving IMM, SONG, HoM, & TREASURED, reverse cousins. The HoM seedling involved oesn't have HoM's tendency for corkscrew stalks (so far, 3rd year bloom 010). It doesn't rebloom. Neither of the two different IMM X CSONG ids reblooms. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed for at least one good eedling from each cross to work with, cross back to IMM or HoM. Very strange to see seedlings with all that snow.
