The cross was Come What May X HOM. I got 2 pastel orange out of 36 to bloom.
Saved just the 2 and went on with the one that rebloomed, which was also
taller
with very good branching, but lousy form and substance. That's 03-325ARE,
since
deleted, but still working with it's descendants, almost 10 years later.
Primarily
05-170ARE: "SNOC" : 03-325ARE X Genteel, a very pale orange, posted on
iris-photos
Feb 16 last year, which repeats and reblooms around Indiana. Adam Cordes is
now
trying it in Michigan.

I did get a near spectrum orange from a cross with Entangled. Small thing,
not robust.
It may still be out there in the 2010 planting. Cordoba kept breaking in the
wind
before pods were mature enough. It's now on the lee side of the house. Tall
orange,
long-term survivor, so I keep trying.

The Party Of One X Tenderly and reverse show orange in various tones. 2 of
them
bloomed potted, indoors this fall, both medium orange, but couldn't get a
decent photo.
The Lunar Whitewash X Coral Chalice planted last spring are mostly handling
the winter
well on a walk-around yesterday. One in particular looks like a rebloomer, if
you know
what I mean. Healthier clump, good increase, advanced foliage and rhizome.

Orange Popsicle is one I'd recommend to anyone trying to breed Z5 RE oranges.
An OP X
Renown tried to bloom here last August, in the awful drought, after just being
planted out
in May. A fall sprout in the house now is outgrowing all the new babies. I'm
getting 1-2
sprouts per year from the cross, third year now. A couple of OP X Tenderly
have also
bloomed out of season.

For the most part, I'm crossing healthiest that carry or might carry orange
and hoping
something pops out.

Loving this thread!

Mary Lou, near Indianapolis, back to cold.
