what is the x for?

Tom, I tried wiki (using google, rather than the wiki search function) and found the same thing.

John tells me there are no registrations with either, so it's those two aren't good examples to search for.

Try to find Sand and Sea - there should be one entry for it, plus 3 more descended from it. I'll see if google can find them in the iris twiki.
