The "x" is used in the Registry information in all crosses where the pod and pollen parents are known. When the Registry does its search for any characters that are present it will churn out those varieties containing varieties with those particular characters in the specific order if those characters that are in parenthesis.

So entering (over and over) will only return results with the letter combination "over" in the Registry info. It will give you results for the variety 'Over and Over' but it will also result in everything else contain the letter combination "over", words like "covering", "overlay" and "Dover" as in 'Cliffs of Dover' which has been used quite a lot. The problem is that "and" is a search parameter but in these two cases it is also part of the varietal name and the search function does not know the difference. We have to approach this situation differently and we solve that by including the "x". So if the "x" is included in the appropriate place and part of the search parameter this will greatly reduce the results returned.

So if you type in ...

(and over x) you will get results for 'Over and Over' as a pod parent
(x over and) returns results for 'Over and Over' as pollen parent
Apply the same for 'Again and Again' .

The problem you are perceiving that it doesn't work is because there are no Registered decendants of either cultivar.
I have only managed one cross with 'Again and Again' and I wasn't particulary impressed with the seedlings. I kept two seedlings for further breeding work but have had no luck with fertility in the crosses tried for two years.
