Because it is a text only search, it does discern the differences.  Just simple character order.  It's there you just have to look through the 224 results for this particular character combination.  Reducing the complete database from 70,000+ to 224 is an accomplishment.  

If you want to hone it further enter "and innerst" or "and 199" or "and 200" outside the parenthesis.  This will return results for Innerst only (assuming you already knew he was the Hybridizer) or the others will return results for years 1990-1999 and 2000-2009 respectively.  But actually what was originally being looked for was decendants, not the cultivar itself, right.
