Linda: Since you work on the R&I I will point out something interesting. The wiki is more complete now than the Iris register. If someone wants to check whether a name has been used, they should check both. The list of reserved names is not important to the wiki and so it is only periodically updated but there are lots of names that have been declared obsolete and do not appear in the registry that have pictures of irises growing today. (they did not die out) An example 'Edina' sadly this old tall bearded was declared obsolete and was blacklisted but it was a parent in a very interesting cross to produce 'Paltec' and I discovered recently when I got images that 'Edina' lives. Unfortunately the name was also reused and there is a Louisiana by that name.
