And if you do visit it, please also consider driving a few more miles south
on rt. 52 to visit the Goodstay Campus of the University of Delaware, where
you will find Goodstay Gardens, originally an estate garden, now maintained
largely by volunteers. A portion of the gardens is set up in "rooms," where
the iris room is tended by the Diamond State Iris Society. It is primarily a
spring garden, with a few things going on in other seasons. A little
before the
peak spring iris bloom, the magnolia walk is magnificent. --Jim
