Today I received the following message from Anner Whitehead, which I think
some of you will be interested in:
<< Do you recall mentioning the Schreiner TB CHANGE OF PACE as an example of
an excellent grower when you spoke to the Richmond group? I was sure you
would!
Well, they sent me one as a freebie in 1995, and it survived with all fans
intact through last winter, and duly bloomed in spring--immense, a huge
EVERYTHING PLUS in tones of rose and magenta. I moved it without division to
mother's garden nearby in August to make way for my Cayeux collection.
Clarence, the crazy plant has a huge bud showing color. I thought you might
want to tell your companions in remontancy who track such things.

Since I continue to believe that CHANGE OF PACE is an even better iris than
many of Schreiners that have gotten more judges' votes, I thought this
instance of its reblooming in Richmond, VA, might encourage others to try it.
It has been a exceptionally vigorous performer in every garden I have seen
it growing. Clarence Mahan in VA
