I assume that I am wrong (as usual) in thinking that the term might be 
referring to iris with variegated blooms, based on the color break 
originated by Allan Ensminger, of which Batik (not quite a TB) is the 
most famous, which Brad Kasperek is also improving and expanding?

Anyhow, glad to be back on the net after no electricity for a day
and a half (winds). To paraphrase George Gobel, we were without 
electricity and had to check email by candlelight.
