Yes, we need this information. But the individual observers don't have to
record it because I do have a complete set of checklists and can readily find
the place of origin for those varieties that are widely enough grown to merit
special attention. What individuals need to do is report the base color of
EVERY named variety of TB they grow.

That's the key to the whole project! It's not just that we need to collect a
lot of data, but it should come from as many different climates as possible.
