Dr. Carl Jorgensen at Colorado State did quite a study on seed germination.
The seeds were placed in cold storage of low 40+ degrees for a certain number
of weeks. This whole process is described in an older AIS bulletin, late 60's
or early 70's. His germination using the prescibed method is over 90%. He is
the king in our area.
