Dear Graham all others,
There are neither ugly iris nor beautiful iris. They are only terms which
painfully point out the preferences, biasis, and limitations of humans.
Taste is one of the unique characteristics which makes each individual human
speciman special. The public-at- large has just as much "right" to define
which iris have above average garden value as do hybridizers, judges, and
nurseries. The latter's responsibility is to provide cutivars which will
GROW for the public.
