Outdoor Seed Germination

Dear all,

We've finally had a good snow fall, and I've just finished piling it 4 feet
high on top of my seed beds. I've found that if I can do this several times
during the winter it improves my germination rate. In our drier climate,
it's hard to get enough water to leach out the germination inhibitors.

Here I have to make sure the seed beds stay wet all winter and spring or else
germination suffers. One year the beds dried out in February and my
germination rat dropped to 10%.
