Ah, but then you'll envy those gardeners who live where there's enough cold to
satisfy the chilling requirements of colder-climate plants. In Monterey
people were always trying to grow things that wanted warm summers and cold
winters. And here, I'd love to grow things that only do well with moist, acid
soil (like I. cristata, for instance). It's the Grass is Always Greener
thing. Barb, also zone 5 (yes, but in Santa Fe, it's a dry zone 5).

Yes I agree about the zone-envy thing. Maybe if I really take care of my
