One more reason I don't pay too much attention to top awards in AIS. AM
seems to be a pretty good guide to better than average, but higher awards
don't seem to track very well all the time FOR ME..
Another technique in searching catalogs for varieties that might do well here
under my benign neglect and stressful erratci climate/weather - I look for
varieties that are older than average listings and from out of region for the
source of the catalog. Wish I could think of an example!
