Around here, DC blooms more reliably, true to it's 'type', than Silverado,
which grows like a weed. Can't have everything. And besides, most people
(generic people, not just iris judges) who see a bloomstalk of each go nuts
for DC. It's that unique sheen, color saturation, and more traditional form.
If I ever get to see a good stalk of SILVERADO I may change my mind, but I
wouldn't even vote for it in my top 100, and I have grown it for 2 1/2 years.
