cold grouch

Linda Mann asks for a warm comment from the southern hemisphere and on
flower blooming,

Today has been fairly typical - lunch by the side of the miniature
waterfall and fountain - temperature well into the 70s - shirt sleeves
and cotton frocks - barbeques and swimming in the river . . . But enough
is enough!

But flowers? This is our thinnest iris time - the very last of the
Japanese irises and only a putative I. prismatica in bloom. Our year
starts (with luck) with the first blooms on the stylosas in March which
go on blooming through the reticulatas until the first of the MDBs in
August.
