        I also hear that some of the games have to be put off
due to the heat..
        And that indeed, over the past decade, weather has become much more
severe, globally!!

        This may account for at least a portion of the weaknesses in "hardy"
iris???

well, someone wanted to hear warm weather.....well here in SE Australia, our
real summer has come in with a bang.....Melbourne (which is always being
disparidged by Sydneysiders as being cold0 had its second warmest night on
record 30.3C minimum! and on centre court at the austrlain open yesterday
temps were hovering in the 50sC!
