I planted seeds of Foetidissima during the fall of 1995 in a one gallon
pot using sterlized potting soil. The pot was left outside over the
winter and the seeds germinated fine in the spring. About 90%. Our
winters are mild so I don't think a lot of cold is necessary.
I was mailed the seeds from a friend in Southern California.

Out of sheer curiosity, how does dear old smelly foetidissima do in hotter
climates? Does in suffer in the heat?
