Scott Aitken is on this list, so I am asking him to bring this issue up with
his father, our distinguished Bulletin editor.  Personally, I think an
article on the problems with "line breeding" in animals would be an excellent
item, because the principles involved also relate to plants, and that means
irises.  If the Bulletin editor does not consider such an article
appropriate,  the editors of ROOTS (its Anne and Mike again!) and the RIS
Recorder (Kathy Guest) might be interested in it.  Kathy in particular really
needs some articles soon, because the FALL issue of the Recorder is coming
out late and she immediately needs items for the Spring issue.  The article
could be prefaced with an explanation that what happens with animals also
