line in Rick's message made me think that I'M OPEN would a great name for a
beautiful iris (which grows well) with open standards (Not a fault---although
some people don't care for them!)
Lloyd Zurbrigg once told me that if you have an iris with something
different, or a characteristic that some people don't like, the best thing to
do is give it a name that focuses on that feature. It will get attention
(which every hybridizer wants his/her iris to get) and it will let the
"experts" know you were very much aware of the feature when you chose to
introduce the iris. Sort of, "In your face!"
So, let's see if someone picks up this name! Of course there's always the
name IN YOUR FACE (I doubt if anyone will want the name "Bad Branching" but
that's available too!) LOL at his own poor attempt at humor, Clarence Mahan
