As Rick indicates, the correct total number of different Crayola colors is
96. One could obtain a full set of these, diligently color rectangles of
white paper, laminate them to 4-inch strips of salvaged miniblinds, punch
holes in the end of each and attach them to a key ring, and, VOILA, an
instant set of RHS (Real Home Style) color chips! The fly in the ointment
is that Crayola has been "retiring" colors such as lemon yellow, maize, and
raw umber (which sound as if they might be of some real use to irisarians)
in favor of more vivid and lurid hues designed to attract the attention of
our visually overstimulated youth.
