Well, since you ask so prettily, the pigment, and the paint made from it, are
pronounced Thay-low-SIGH-uh-nine Blue, called Thaylo Blue for short. There is
a Thalo Green, too, if you are interested. And there would be quite a few
irises to choose from, depending upon how much white you mixed with it. It is
a fairly clean blue, comparatively speaking, a little less grey than Prussian,
a little bit greener than Ultramarine, a little less frisky than Cobalt, and
it would appear, in its most characteristic shades as a clear navy, to royal,
to baby blue, somewhat insistent visually, as are many of the artificial
pigments.

So, was yours a rhetorical question or are you shopping for blue irises these
days, Donald?
