If anyone still has this plant HIPS doesn't know it. Not showing up in the
current DataBank. No reason it shouldn't be kicking around somewhere waiting
to be adored, though. Sounds gawjus! Here's the bit from the Vilmorin 1938
catalog as reprinted in the HIPS Chronicle:
"Very large flowers, Standards dauphin blue, flaring falls purple violet
shaded toward the edges, styles pyrethrum yellow with dauphin blue center,
beard sunshine yellow, straight stems, strong and beautifully slender."
As plant pornography goes, this is not altogether to be despised. Of course,
another description says "dolphin" blue, so there it is in a nutshell.
